I was never fully aware of just how difficult it is to be self disciplined until I sold my store and supposedly “retired”. Without the demands & needs of owning your own business and going to work almost every day, I have found it too easy to procrastinate on almost all tasks that I find to be less enjoyable. I’ve got plenty of projects to keep me busy (previous post), but still find myself gravitating to the easy ones. Of course, I suppose that is part of human nature, ie., we put off the least favorable tasks on our agenda. The big difference now is that there are far less pressures to get some of them done.
For example, I took a great Fall trip through the Appalachian mountains and returned with good intentions of updating this blog immediately on my return. Three weeks later and I’m still working on it, which is also what prompted these musings. For the few of you that have read this far, my next post will be an account of that trip. Here is a look at a small gallery of pictures.
Good post. I learn something new and challenging on sites I stumbleupon every day. It’s always interesting to read content from other authors and practice a little something from their websites.
Thank you for your supportive comments. I agree wholeheartedly about how much rich & educational content can be found in other’s blogs. Do you have a blog?
How much warmer is it? Amy wants you to know it’s 19 degrees here!
I couldn’t agree more, although our winter has been easy. Leaving soon for my real road trip. Heading to Arizona, New Mexico & Colorado, while still making stops along the way. I saw on your blog that you will be in Arizona for awhile. I plan on getting to the Phoenix are by Jan 27th. Let me know where your’e headed when you leave Quartzsite.
Nice to see that you are keeping busy.
My discipline and hobby is posting my blog on a daily basis, like making supper everynight, two things I really enjoy, that way I don’t forget what I did. Also planning new adventures and them travelling.
Keep the post coming I enjoy reading them
Wow. You actually are reading my posts. Many thanks. Since I’m home still, that is, not on the road, I find that the environment here is not very condusive to my productivity. I’m looking forward to after the Holidays when I will make my way west & south for an extended road trip. I’ll try to be more productive & disciplined.
It’s January you should be on the road somewhere, update please.
